This webinar was able to present knowledge that is very useful and informative. The webinar occurred at my most convenient time that’s why I find it less hassle and more enjoyable. It’s very special for me to work in my comfortable time since this webinar would have a big effect on my professional life and skills.

Topic 1: The Need for Promoting Diversity in Education

            This topic focuses on promoting that there are a variety of differences and similar characteristics. This is called social diversity in which these differences and similarities are shared between all human beings both personally and as a group. The fundamentals given are means, age/generational diversity, differences in physical abilities, ethnicities, religious and political beliefs, and gender. These fundamentals have created exclusion in society. But, it should not be the reason why we exclude people from a group and discriminate those people who we see as unique one or call them different. It is more effective to work in a diverse workplace and we should create sa safe place that prevents discrimination and exclusion. 

Topic 2: Women on STEM

            This topic tackles about providing equal opportunity, fostering an inclusive space, and empowering and capability building. This organization aims to develop their skills and support the community in youth outreach, university outreach, social networking and professional development. Due to this, it will increase diversity in the workplace. It will also create a workplace culture where all employees feel empowered. Moreover, it will seek outside support and work with others outside our organization. Women on STEM will deliver a better place for people who experienced exclusion and discrimination in the workplace. Along with that, there will be an opportunity for these people to develop professional skills and provide high quality output for the organization they work for. Therefore, companies should see social diversity as a benefit for the organization. It will make employees productive knowing they are working in a place they will feel valued and not just work for the money.

Topic 3: Application Development and Emerging Technology

            This topic was all about the process of creating a computer program or a set of programs to perform the different tasks that a business requires. There are steps to develop an application. First, requirement analysis, this step needs you to list what are the elements you need to be able to work in the development of the application. Next, the design, it’s important to have a design or the layout of the application. It includes where you are going to place the needed elements perfectly and still provide a pleasing-to-the-eye view of the application. Third is the development, this is where you apply all the plans you made and develop it. Fourth is the testing. This part is necessary because you need to make sure that all buttons redirected to its designated link are functioning. You also need to test if the navigation and menus are working properly. Once there are some links that doesn’t work, redevelop it and finalize the development. The skill in developing application will be useful in the future because we can see right now that there is an emerging technology. Most of the businesses produce advertising online or use technology to promote their product, produce their product and communicate to their customers. If an organization was able to have an own application, it will be much easier for their customer, potential and future, to reach out, to order, to communicate and to track their orders. 

 

             Being able to attend and participate in this webinar for free is such a big opportunity, however, since it’s live there are some connectivity issues I got troubled with. Due to this, I feel it was incomplete even though it was full of information. That’s why I asked for some clarifications and questions during the Q & A. On the other hand, this webinar contributed a lot of information to my prior knowledge. Whenever I sent the short evaluation provided, I felt fulfilled because I was able to remember and gain that knowledge for a short period of time. I can use this information to share it to anyone who’s been curious about social diversity, women on STEM organization, application development both mobile and desktop and how fast paced technology is. Because of the certificate provided at the end of the webinar, I can use it for my job applications to be able to convince HR managers that I’m very well disciplined and will be able to create a safe place for my coworkers
